SISTERS OF CHARITY

The Sisters of Charity is an Anglican religious order founded in Bristol, England in 1869.  There has been a branch order in the US since 1969.

Located in Sewanee, TN, the Sisters worry about young mothers who have little or nothing for their newborn babies.  Working through the Gabriel Project, the Sisters provide layettes and funds for infant care necessities including car seats.

Micki designed this three piece pattern especially for the Sisters of Charity.  Like the popular prayer shawls, positive thoughts for babies and their moms can be added to each stitch.  All proceeds from pattern sales go to the Sisters for their outreach activities.

The Sisters of Charity work with an orphanage in Haiti--visiting every year and maintaining contact throughout the interim months.  All proceeds from this pattern go toward helping these wounded children.
